Tech giant Google has recently changed the brand of Gmail. Gmail has designed a replacement logo to match Google’s other services. Gmail has been designed with the four main colors of Google, namely blue, red, yellow and green, also as logos of other services including Google Maps, Google Drive.
Google’s design change has had some backlash from social media users. Notably, these logos can’t be distinguished at a look .
In fact, the reaction isn’t like discard . Yet it’s somehow better than bad. Google wanted to get rid of the letter ‘M’ from Gmail’s new design. Besides, they also considered the difficulty of eliminating red color. But thanks to the negative response from the participants within the preliminary survey, Google has designed this new logo.
Gmail has changed its logo several times since its launch in 2004. within the beginning, the name was ‘Google Mail’. the brand also reflected the letter ‘M’ from the start like an envelope. ‘
In the same year, after using the primary logo for a couple of days, the name ‘Gmail’ was used rather than ‘Google Mail’. Dennis Huang was the primary to style the Gmail logo. He designed the brand the night before Gmail launched.
In the same year, the planning of the previous logo was slightly improved. the brand came out of the trial version and was used until 2010.
Then, six years later, in November 2010, Gmail’s homepage was redesigned. At an equivalent time, the Gmail logo has been modified to match Google’s design. Google’s left-hand logo was also moved to the right-hand side that year.
On May 30, 2013, Gmail’s design was announced during a fresh design with another logo. Excluding Gmail text, only the letter ‘M’ is kept within the envelope. The Google logo was also dropped.
However, the envelope-like logo was first seen within the Gmail app of the Android OS in 2014. Google then gradually added it to all or any other services of Google. a couple of days ago, this logo was also on Gmail’s website.
